Fire Rehabilitation

Many areas within a fire area burn very hot and intense. It is common that soils become sterilized and incapable of supporting new vegetative growth. It is also common that soils become very fragile and susceptible to erosion. Beginning in 2002 with the Hayman Fire in Colorado, Mountain West Helicopters has become the industry experts in aerial straw mulching and fire reclamation. Using the KMAX helicopter and other Bell medium lift helicopters we have perfected the techniques necessary to cover thousands of acres of national and state forests with straw. Resulting in renewed nutrients for damaged soils and mitigating erosion.
